In less than 24 hours, Army Punter Owen Tolson will be in Indianapolis and will be fully immersed in the NFL combine. From media interviews, to interviews with NFL coaches and GMs, to mental tests, physical tests, and position performance, Tolson will be taking part in something that, until now, very few Army players have had the opportunity to do. Make no mistake about it - the ability for Army players to get a shot at the NFL, as well as be allowed to play in the NFL if drafted, is a very big, important step for the Army Football Program.
Tolson is making the most of his opportunity. His preparation physically and mentally started when the Army-Navy game ended, and has not stopped since. He has played this scenario out in his head, and has developed a solid maturity that should give him success at the combine.
Owen took some time to talk to us this evening about his preparation and expectations going into the Combine. He gives a very frank and open description of the process, letting Army Fans into a process that prior to now was relatively foreign.
